Dr. Martin Hebel, music composition and theory faculty member at UNA, has won a national composition competition and was selected as a featured composer for the 2025 Hot Air Music Festival at the prestigious San Francisco Conservatory of Music (SFCM).
The Anderson College of Nursing and Health Professions at the University of North Alabama will have Leo’s Feel Good Fest on Thursday, March 20, from 4-7 p.m. at Harrison Hall.
Janie Clasgens, a University of North Alabama Department of Music graduate and full-time singer with Disney’s Voices of Liberty has been tapped to be the special guest as part of UNA Voce’s “Voices Unplugged” concert set for March 18 at 6 p.m. at St. Bartholomew’s Episcopal Church on Darby Drive in Florence.

Light the Fountain, this year presented by Chick-fil-A, is the beloved annual spring event at the University of North Alabama; it returns for a ninth year Thursday. The event, which includes food, music, fireworks, and giveaways, will kick off at 4 p.m. with a variety of food trucks and entertainment. The official program will begin at 6:30 p.m.

Sonceria Ann Berry, who graduated from the University of North Alabama in 1978, has been confirmed by the Alabama Senate to fill the Board of Trustees seat currently held by Dr. Wendell Gunn, who did not desire to seek reappointment. The final confirmation took place in Montgomery on Thursday morning, and Berry’s six-year term will begin in July.
