Accomplishments and Happenings in the College of Business

  • Some of UNA’s Phi Beta Lambda students have just returned from National Conference with exciting news! A competition divided into various events awarded ten students (out of 2000 represented by each state in the nation) prizes for their display of excellence in these events. Seven students qualified to go to Nationals, but five were unable to attend because of other commitments. Of the students who placed, Hannah Aycock of Muscle Shoals and Jessica Warren of Athens competed in two events each; Hannah placed 4th Management in Cost Accounting and Word Processing. Jessica placed 4th in Human Resource. As the competition was great, these ladies represented the university very well, and we are incredibly proud of them. The UNA chapter also received an award for being a "Gold Seal Chapter" for its participation in numerous community and service activities this year. Thank you all for your support and please congratulate these ladies if you see them in the future.

  • Student Orientation Advising and Registration (SOAR) has almost concluded at UNA. The class of 2018 displays definite energy and we are excited to welcome them into the College of Business. So far, we have advised 162 students wishing to be a part of the COB. With two more sessions scheduled, this number will increase, making this the busiest SOAR season for the COB in the last five years. Thank you to all of the advisors who have made this year’s orientation run so smoothly, and to the faculty who will have the opportunity to work with these students; they show great potential!
