Bio

Shinika Byrd earned her Executive Masters in Business Administration from the University of North Alabama. Byrd has over 15 years of professional work experience. She currently serves as Lecturer of Management in the College of Business. Her interests include Business Management, Organizational Behavior (OB), and Leadership. Byrd has performed in several capacities at the University of North Alabama. Before Lecturer, she had the opportunity to serve as Senior Admissions Coordinator for the College of Business MBA Program. Byrd was a team leader and critical contributor to the remarkable growth in the College of Business, resulting in the largest MBA program in the state of Alabama.

Byrd also served in the Office of Advancement for over five years preceding the College of Business. Byrd extensive experience in the Advancement Office adds to her business knowledge in not-for-profit. Prior to UNA, Byrd worked for Waste Management and Eliza Coffee Memorial Hospital.

In addition to her full-time position, she has managed CQI Insulation and Spray Foam, a family-owned company located in Tuscumbia, Alabama. Byrd has performed in many facets for the company. Some of her key involvements include; the facilitation of the company’s establishment, implementing strategic business management processes, and applying marketing tactics amplifying sales revenue growth year-over-year.

Byrd has been a long-time mentor in the community and participated in charitable organizations for many years, as well as serving on numerous local professional boards. Byrd currently serves on her local county, Department of Human Resource (DHR) Board.

Byrd is a Mississippi native and resides in Tuscumbia, Alabama, has an interest in gardening, reading, and most importantly, spending time with her family.
