Management and Marketing - MBA

MBA Concentrations in Management and Marketing

The Master of Business Administration (MBA) is a 34 hour degree program consisting of eleven 3-hour courses and one 1-hour course. The Department of Management and Marketing supports five concentrations in the MBA program: Health Care Management, Human Resource Management, International Business, Professional, and Project Management. To earn an MBA with one of the above concentrations, all students must take the nine required courses listed below (25 hours) and choose one of the five nine-hour concentrations for a total of 34 hours. 

  • MG 601 - MBA Skills and Outcomes (should be taken first semester)
  • AC 626 - Cost for Management Decision Analysis
  • CIS 625 - Enterprise Systems Analysis
  • EC 650 - Managerial Economics
  • FI 630 - Financial Management
  • MK 660 - Marketing Strategy
  • QM 670 - Quantitative Methods
  • MG 624 - Organizational Behavior
  • MG 640 - Management Policy

The five concentration options that a student may select from are:

1. Health Care Management

  • MG 665 - Issues in Health Care Management
  • MG 695 - Strategic Management for Health Care Management
  • MK 671 - Marketing for Health Care Management

2. Human Resource Management

  • MG 648 - Human Resources Management
  • MG 658 - Strategic HR Planning and Development 
  • MG 668 - Survey of Global Human Resource Planning

 3. International Business

  • MG 691 - International Business
  • EC/FI 563 - International Trade and Finance
  • MG 610 - Business Ethics OR
  • MG 680 - International Internship OR
  • MG 698 - Independent Study/Practicum in International Business (with approval of the department chair)

4. Professional

  • Any three MBA electives chosen by the student

5. Project Management

  • MG 585 - Project Management
  • MG 685 - Cases in Applied Project Management
  • MK 670 - Leadership and Team Building
