Chemistry Scholarships

The Department of Chemistry and Occupational Health Science has scholarships that can provide financial aid in conjunction with the support a student may receive from other sources.

Application Deadline February 1
Award values $400–$2000 per year, up to 4 years
Criteria to remain qualified
  • Make satisfactory progress toward graduation with a major in professional chemistry or occupational health science
  • Enroll in at least one chemistry or occupational health science course for both fall and spring semesters
  • Maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 in all chemistry and occupational health science courses
  • Maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 in all courses

The Department has 12 endowed scholarships available, and of those, 7 are available to incoming first year students. Students majoring in professional chemistry or occupational health science may apply for an endowed scholarship. Awards are made on the basis of academic achievements and the potential for future excellence as indicated by letters of recommendation.

Several of the endowed scholarships have additional criteria such as that the recipient must be from a high school in Colbert County or that the recipient must be an active participate in the North Alabama Chapter of the Student Affiliates of the American Chemical Society.
