Day of Giving FAQs

What is Giving Tuesday?

So what is #GivingTuesday?  Quite simply, it’s a global day dedicated to giving back. A day when charities, families, businesses, community centers, and students around the world will come together for one common purpose: to celebrate generosity and to give.

Is there a minimum donation amount?

No, but we encourage a $10 minimum donation during the event.

How do I make a gift?

You’ll be able to make your gift via the Giving Day website.

Is it safe to make my gift online?

Yes, the information collected during the giving event is only used by The University of North Alabama Foundation to process your gift.

Can a donor send a gift by mail or phone?

Due to the short timeframe of UNA Giving Day, you can make a gift by phone or online. You can make a gift over the phone by calling (256)765-5080.

How do I decide where to give?

Many donors choose to make an unrestricted gift, which is directed where the need is greatest. Unrestricted gifts enable the University to take advantage of unexpected opportunities. Other donors choose to restrict their gifts to a specific department or program. Donors can also support technological improvements, the library, athletics or one of the many scholarships that are available.

Is my Giving Day contribution tax-deductible?

Yes, your gift is entirely tax-deductible. You will receive an e-mail confirmation and an acknowledgement letter from the UNA foundation for tax purposes.

Can I create a recurring gift?

Yes, once you have made your gift on our secure website, you can choose a recurring gift option which will be drafted the 15th of every month.

Who can I contact if I have additional questions?
