Shoals India Endowed Scholarships

REQUIREMENTS FOR THE SHOALS INDIA ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIPS

I. The Shoals India Merit Endowed Scholarship requirements and guidelines are as follows:
  • Student eligibility for scholarship includes that the student
    • is currently enrolled full-time at UNA
    • has a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0
    • is classified at least as a Junior and will be enrolled at the University as a full-time student for a minimum of one more academic year
    • demonstrates interest in global issues
    • is a citizen of the United States
    • is preferably a first generation student
    • completes an application in writing to the Student Financial Services Office in Room 318 of The Commons Building

II. The Shoals India Endowed Scholarship requirements and guidelines are as follows:
  • Student eligibility for scholarship includes that the student
    • is currently enrolled full-time at UNA
    • has a cumulative GPA of at least 2.5
    • is classified at least as a Junior and will be enrolled at the University as a full-time student for a minimum of one more academic year
    • demonstrates interest in global issues
    • is a citizen of the United States
    • is preferably a first generation student
    • has submitted a FAFSA application package with the Financial Aid Office
    • completes an application in writing to the Student Financial Services Office in Room 318 of The Commons Building
III. The Shoals India Endowed International Scholarship requirements and guidelines are as follows:
  • Student eligibility for scholarship includes that the student
    • is currently enrolled full-time at UNA
    • has a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0
    • is classified at least as a Junior and will be enrolled at the University as a full-time student for a minimum of one more academic year
    • must be a citizen of India or any other country in South Asia (Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka)
    • completes an application in writing to the Student Financial Services Office in Room 318 of The Commons Building

Students have to submit the following documents to be considered for the scholarship:

  • a brief essay of at least 500 words about their interest/involvement in global issues
  • copy of their recent transcript
  • copy of their resume

Schedule: The Shoals India Endowed Scholarship Committee will review and select winners of the scholarship on a schedule consistent with the University’s overall Scholarship Application Program. The application submission deadline is April 28, 2017.
