UNA Immunization Requirements for students entering Fall Semester 2018

The following immunizations are available at UNA Health Services:

  • Hepatitis A
  • Hepatitis B
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria booster
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Pertussis (Tdap)
  • Tuberculosis (TB) skin testing
  • Influenza

All patients who receive an immunization are required to wait in the clinic for at least 15 minutes after the injection is given. This is required due to possible reactions from vaccinations.

Influenza, or flu, shots are available starting in September of every fall semester and throughout flu season. Flu clinics for vaccinations are offered in various locations throughout campus in the fall semester. Students and employees may also visit University Health Services to receive a flu shot.

TB skin tests are not given on Thursdays. All patients who receive a TB skin test must return to UNA Health Services after 48 but before 72 hours for their skin test to be read. This is mandatory.

Students may also contact Workfit at 256-383-9818 located at Helen Keller Hospital in Tuscumbia for the meningitis vaccine and other immunizations not available at University Health Services. Area pharmacies may also offer the required vaccines.
