Graduate Admissions for International Students

Graduate Admissions

Students to applying to the Graduate program should submit the following:

  • Official Application. Download it here PDF
  • Official High School Diploma or University Degree Sheet
  • Official Transcript*
  • Official TOEFL/IELTS score or ESL certificate (see right)
  • Official GMAT/GRE or Masters Degree from accredited university
  • $100 Application Fee
  • Official Bank Letter showing $22,000 US dollars
  • A letter from student's sponsor which includes:
    • a statement that the sponsor is able to and willing to provide for the student financially for the entire duration of the student's program
    • the sponsor's contact information including address, phone number and e-mail address if available
    • the student's complete name and date of birth
  • Students are required to take the GRE or GMAT or MAT test before being admitted to graduate programs at UNA. Student can be admitted to ESL and take the required Graduate entrance test (GMAT,GRE,MAT) while in ESL, or be admitted to the Graduate Academy of Business Administration where student can work on any pre-requisites for MBA and take the GRE or GMAT while in this program. No Student can be admitted directly into the Graduate Programs at UNA without the required test scores.

*All Colleges at UNA except the College of Business require a WES or ECE evaluation of the student's transcript before student can be admitted to graduate school. Students applying for MBA do not have to provide a WES evaluation if they have a Bachelors Degree from a recognized university.

Conditional Graduate Admissions

Students who do not meet English proficiency requirements can apply for Conditional Graduate Admission. Please submit the following:

  • Official Transcript*
  • $100 Application Fee
  • Official Bank Letter showing $22,000 US dollars
  • A letter from student's sponsor which includes:
    • a statement that the sponsor is able to and willing to provide for the student financially for the entire duration of the student's program
    • the sponsor's contact information including address, phone number and e-mail address if available
    • the student's complete name and date of birth

Application Fee

A non-refundable application fee of one hundred dollars ($100) is required of every international applicant. Include an international money order or U.S. check made payable to the University of North Alabama or fill out the payment with credit card section in the application form. No wire transfers or application fee waivers.

Affidavit of Support

An original letter in English on official bank stationery must be submitted from a bank or other financial institution in which the sponsor of the student has savings deposits, certificates of deposit, money market certificates or other types of accounts containing readily available funds. This letter must provide a specific numerical amount of funds; a letter without any amount is not acceptable. The minimum amount required in this letter must be equal to $20,000 for a Graduate student. Letters must be signed and dated within one year of the time the student plans to enroll. Financial sponsors who are U.S. citizens or permanent residents must submit the I-134 Immigration form which can be printed from this website.

All official test scores must be sent to UNA directly from the testing centers.

TOEFL/IELTS Requirements:

  • CBT = 213
  • iBT = 79
  • IELTS = 6.0
  • TOEIC = 670
  • PTE = 54

GMAT/GRE Requirements:

  • GMAT = 450 (V=150, Q=148) (MBA)
  • GRE = 800/286 (V=150, Q=148) (MBA)
  • MAT 388 or combined Verbal/Quantitative 800 (Arts and Sciences)
