Educational Specialist, Elementary Education, UNA 2016
I have been teaching for 14 years. I have taught 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades in various schools and school districts within the state. I also spent one year as a Reading Specialist for grades 4-6. In 2011 I joined the Kilby faculty as the Fifth Grade Instructor. My wife is also a UNA Employee in the Office of International Affairs.
One of the best things about my job is that I am able to participate in educational research studies and use the data to improve my instruction and students’ achievement. One of my favorite research projects has been utilizing university pre-service teachers for instruction and assessment of fifth grade students using Next Generation Science Standards. I feel fortunate to have the opportunity to teach at Kilby and I enjoy the experience of working on a university campus.
