Ms. Heckert began studying piano in the first grade.  When she entered the sixth grade she accompanied her school’s production of Robin Hood.  She taught her first piano lesson as a freshman in high school and, until the birth of her daughter, has held a private teaching studio no matter where she resided.

While in college Ms. Heckert accompanied hundreds of instrumental and vocal lessons, recitals, auditions and competitions.  She was the staff accompanist at the University of Central Florida in Orlando, FL and worked as a substitute pianist at the Orlando Opera Company in Orlando, FL.  While living in Greenville, SC, Ms. Heckert accompanied rehearsals for Aida and Tosca at Bob Jones University, Greenville, SC., as well as several graduate recitals.  She also accompanied The Opera Factory in Rochester, NY. 

Ms. Heckert was the recipient of the Presser Award while at the University of Central Florida, is currently a member of Sigma Alpha Iota, and was inducted into Pi Kappa Lambda as well as Omicron Delta Kappa.  She holds a Bachelor of Music degree, Piano Performance, from the University of Central Florida, Orlando, FL and a Master of Music, Piano Performance, from Bob Jones University, Greenville, SC.  

Ms. Heckert is currently the pianist for First Baptist of Killen in Killen, Alabama and teaches Class Piano at University of North Alabama.  She also works as a collaborative pianist at UNA, residing in Muscle Shoals with her daughter.
