FLORENCE, Ala. –  The University of North Alabama Department of Music will host the UNA Honor Orchestra Festival, Jan. 13 and 14, 2017. This event, in its third year, will bring together 80-100 talented string students from Alabama, Tennessee and Georgia.

Once again led by Shoals Symphony at UNA music director Dr. Daniel Stevens, the festival will include two orchestras—an Honor Orchestra for the top students who audition, conducted by Dr. Stevens, and a Festival Orchestra, conducted by visiting conductor Jacob Frank.

Both orchestras will perform at the Honor Orchestra Concert on Saturday, January 14. In addition to playing stand-alone selections, the Honor Orchestra students will have the opportunity to sit side-by-side and perform with the professional musicians of the Shoals Symphony at UNA.

Tickets range from $16 – $24 for adults, and $7 for students and children (12 and under). Tickets are available at shoalssymphony.una.edu and at the Lindsey Theatre Box Office, MWF, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. For more information, call (256)765-5122.
