Designing Green: UNA Students Discuss Environmentally Friendly Interior Design

Mar. 4, 2009

FLORENCE, Ala. – A group of University of North Alabama interior design students will speak to a Florence High School class this Friday at 1:15 p.m. as the first of three presentations they’ll make on small steps toward reducing greenhouse emissions. Two more presentations will be made at other Shoals area schools, still being scheduled.

The presentations are part of a project for the students’ Senior Studio, a requisite class for UNA’s interior design major.

The topic for Friday’s presentation will be the use of natural lighting in classrooms. Topics to be covered in other school presentations will include interior air quality, green building materials, Energy Star appliances and recycling of materials.
