Coca Cola Company Presents $55,000 Check to UNA

Sep. 12, 2011

FLORENCE, Ala. – The University of North Alabama received a $55,000 check from the Coca Cola Company Friday as part of a partnership with the beverage provider, which supplies Coke products to campus.

UNA President Dr. William Cale said Coca Cola was awarded an exclusive agreement with the university about three years ago when UNA was seeking a partnership among various beverage providers. Coca Cola now has exclusive rights to sell products on campus and integrate marketing materials at UNA, according to Cale.

The agreement means UNA receives Coca Cola beverages at all supporting events, a commission on sales and annual check of $55,000. Bob Bedell, vice president of marketing for the southeast region of Coca Cola, presented the check to Cale Friday.

“The partnership is working extremely well,” Cale said. “Sales of Coke products are doing very well on campus, and we are pleased with the support Coca Cola provides to UNA.”
