UNA Adviser Receives National Leadership Position with NACADA

FLORENCE, Ala. – Joan Williams, academic adviser/certification specialist and assistant director for the Office of Diversity and Institutional Equity at the University of North Alabama, has been elected to serve as region chair for the Southeast Region 4 for the National Academic Advising Association. Williams will serve as chairperson for the position until October 2014.
 
As a chairperson, Williams holds responsibility for representing and leading members of NACADA within her region. Williams also is in charge of providing networking opportunities for members, recruiting new members, identifying the needs of membership services for her region, maintaining a regional governing structure of her region and overseeing responsibilities for annual regional conference and state workshops.
