FLORENCE, Ala. – Jeff Hodges, sports information director for the University of North Alabama, will receive the 25-Year Award at the 2009 College Sports Information Directors of America’s (CoSIDA) annual convention later this month. The award recognizes Hodges for his accomplishments in the field of sports information over the past 25 years.

“We congratulate Jeff on such a distinguished honor that pays tribute to his career,” said Mark Linder, UNA director of athletics. “ He has touched many lives and promoted UNA as a first-class university.”

Hodges has served as SID at UNA since 1983. He has also served as media coordinator for the NCAA Division II Football Championship for the last 23 years, has served as chairman of the Harlon Hill Trophy award since the award’s creation in 1986 and has served as chairman of the Division II Football Hall of Fame. He served on the selection committee for the College Football Hall of Fame and has also coordinated the selection of numerous decade and quarter-century teams on the university, conference and Division II levels.

In 1997, Hodges was inducted into the CoSIDA Hall of Fame. Last year, he was the recipient of the Scoop Hudgins Outstanding SID Award from the All-American Football Foundation for outstanding work to promote college football.
