Carole Maynard, UNA Department of Music & Theatre
The University of North Alabama Wind Ensemble, conducted by UNA Director of Bands Dr. Lloyd Jones, will present Traditions, a winter concert, on Thursday, March 19, at 7:30 p.m., in Norton Auditorium.
As the flagship of the instrumental ensembles at the university, the UNA Wind Ensemble performs contemporary and traditional wind band literature of the highest caliber.
This concert is no exception. The program will include works by contemporary composers, classic works by Sousa and a salute to the Armed Forces.
“This concert is comprised of five selections that represent a spectrum of the wind ensemble literature,” said Jones. “The program offers something for everyone.”
Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students, and all military personnel and children 10 and under are free. Tickets are available online at una.edu/music-theatre (service fee will apply), at Kennedy-Douglass Center for the Arts, and at the door.
