What are you doing now?

I am currently a first year Masters student in the Industrial-Organizational Psychology program at Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU).

How did UNA's Psychology program help you achieve what you have become?

UNA's psychology program truly set me up for success. Not only are the professors great at what they do, but they prepare you for graduate school if you decide that's something you want to pursue. Through UNA's psychology program, I was able to get research experience, go to conferences for little to no cost, take all of my prerequisite classes for graduate school, and work with one of my professors as a supplemental instructor. The experience I received led to me being accepted into several top tier masters programs for I-O psychology. I would have never been able to accomplish what I have without professors in the program who knew my name and didn't treat me as just a number, or the hard work they put into teaching and keeping students motivated.

What advice would you give students who are interested in becoming UNA Psychology majors?

My advice to students who are thinking about becoming a UNA psychology student is, talk to one of the professors if you are unsure. They will guide you any way they can. However, you have nothing to lose by becoming a UNA psychology student. You will leave with confidence and well-rounded knowledge in the field, and you will receive more opportunities for success than you probably would anywhere else. I have had many different professors and I have taken classes in a variety of fields of study. I can confidently say that the psychology courses I have taken at the University of North Alabama have changed my way of thinking and have given me knowledge that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.
