The Office of Institutional Research (OIR) has, as its primary mission, the collection of data (from both internal and external sources); timely analysis, distribution, and presentation of this information for use in assessment and planning at UNA; and providing pertinent information for use in decision-making and policy formulation.

The Office coordinates and implements oversight of institutional effectiveness for the entire campus. This includes creating university-wide assessment reports, analyzing assessment data, providing ad hoc data reports for departments, and working effectively with university-wide committees to develop and maintain assessment plans.

Furthermore, the Office ensures the accuracy of vital University statistics, and disseminates these data to a broad spectrum of information consumers including regulatory entities, administrators, faculty, private organizations, and the general public. The Office responds to diverse requests for data from members of the University community, and assists with research and assessment methodology, evaluation, and analysis.
