UNA Rocketry Challenge

UNA’s Rocketry Program is Once Again Ready for Launch

The University of North Alabama and the Alabama Math Science and Technology Initiative (AMSTI) pleased to present the UNA Rocketry Challenge. This event will work with high schools to prepare and support student teams for regional and state competitions.

The Team America Rocketry Challenge (TARC) is now in its 14th year of inspiring and attracting the next generation of engineers and technicians to join the aerospace industry (rocketcontest.org). TARC is the Aerospace Industries Association’s signature program and the only aerospace-specific national STEM competition. During the 2015 season alone TARC involved 4,000 students in 48 states with over 700 teams.

Students will build a rocket capable of carrying one egg (which should land uncracked), reaching an altitude of 775 feet, and flying for 41 to 43 seconds. This exercise will expose student teams to:Amsti Logo
