Education Abroad

Step 1: Find the Right Program for You

Search for your study abroad program, go to our short-term faculty-led programs page if you are looking to participate in a short-term program with other UNA students or search the Magellan Exchange Program webpage for summer, semester, or year long programs. Through the Magellan Exchange Program webpage you can search by your major or field of study, location, term, length of program, provider, or language. If you're not sure where to start, you can skip to step two and the Coordinator of Education Abroad will assist you through this process.

Step 2: Meet with the Coordinator of Education Abroad

Kodi Niehaus (knee-house), the Coordinator of Education Abroad, is more than happy to help answer any questions you may have about what you can study, where you can go, and how you can afford it. You can schedule your appoint in the Speak with Someone tab on the left sidebar of this page to schedule an appointment with your Coordinator of Education Abroad. We also accept walk-ins, so never hesitate to just stop in if you need anything!

Step 3: Apply!

Once you have found a program you're interested in, then you can begin the application process. In order to make applying easier for you and to protect the environment, all the Education Abroad Programs have an online application! To access applications for Short-Term Faculty-Led Programs click here and for Magellan Exchange Programs click here. Furthermore, the scholarship application is also available online and students are welcome to apply once they have completed the application for their program.

Step 4: After You’ve Been Accepted

You're not alone in this process. Before you go, you will attend a mandatory education abroad orientation to learn more specific details about your program, how UNA will respond in an emergency, how to remain safe and healthy while abroad, and how to maximize your learning inside and outside the classroom. Family members are more than welcome to attend the final orientation session with students.
