Mathematics Learning Center FAQs

When is the Mathematics Learning Center open?

Individual tutoring sessions with Mathematics Consultants are held in the Mathematics Learning Center (Collier Library, Room 230Q).  Appointments may be made on Monday through Thursday between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m, and 8:00am to 4:00pm on Friday during the Fall and Spring semesters.  Appointments are currently required, so that you will be guaranteed time to meet with someone who is prepared and qualified to help with your particular math course. However, you may stop in at the front desk of the University Success Center to see if there is any drop in tutoring.

When should I come in?

For face-to-face appointments, you should check in with a University Success Center receptionist on the 2nd floor of the Collier Library a few minutes before your scheduled appointment time.  If no one is present at the reception desk, then your Mathematics Consultant can check you in at the MLC (Room 230Q) at the beginning of your appointment. For online appointments, your Mathematics Consultant will check you into your appointment when you join the zoom link.

Mathematics is a skill like any other and must be practiced; therefore we recommend that you do NOT wait until the last minute to schedule an appointment. Take advantage of this free service that can be an invaluable part of your UNA experience.

What do I need to bring with me when I come?

You should come prepared with the same items you need for your mathematics class: pencil, paper, notes from class, textbook (or MML login information), and calculator. Tutoring Session

Do I need to have an appointment?

Currently appointments are required and must be made at least one day in advance in order to guarentee time with someone who is prepared and qualified to help with your particular math course. Who should I ask for when I go to the Mathematics Learning Center?
