Michael David Baldwin is an Alabama native from Birmingham. He graduated from the University of North Alabama (UNA) in 2012. While attending UNA Michael was greatly influenced and inspired by director Charlton James. James taught and directed Michael in several productions including Master Harold and the Boys, which received the university's first invitation to the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival (KCACTF) as a full length production.

Michael went on to attend The Savannah College of Art & Design (SCAD), receiving his M.F.A. in Performing Arts.  He now lives in NYC and can be seen on this season of Law & Order SVU (episode 17) and in the 2017 film Coup D’Etat, starring Michael Caine and Katie Holmes. You can also catch Michael this fall in the off-Broadway New York premiere of Charm by Philip Dawkins. Charm, an MCC production, will make its run at the Lucille Lortel Theatre in Manhattan.

Michael is honored to be back in Florence, following in the tradition of artist like Myk Watford and Elaine Hendrix who inspired him as a student through UNA Summer Theatre. He hopes to have a similar impact for this generation of students.

Destini Croom, who portrays the role of Camae, is proud to be joining the UNA Summer Theatre cast of The Mountaintop.  Destini, a Birmingham native, is currently a freshman going into her sophomore year at the University of North Alabama where she is pursuing a degree in Theatre.  Destini made her debut at Center Point High School as Ruth in Southern Girls. Along with theatre she was also very active in her high school choir where she was a recurring soloist and received supreme scoring on her pieces in competitions.
