Management and Marketing - MBA

MBA Concentrations in Management and Marketing

The Master of Business Administration (MBA) is a 34 hour degree program consisting of eleven 3-hour courses and one 1-hour course . The Department of Management and Marketing supports four concentrations in the MBA program: Project Management, Professional Concentration, Health Care Management Concentration and the International Business Concentration. To earn an MBA with one of the above concentrations, all students must take the nine required courses listed below (25 hours) and one of the three nine-hour concentrations for a total of 34 hours. 

  • MG 601 - MBA Skills and Outcomes (should be taken first semester)
  • AC 626 - Cost for Management Decision Analysis
  • CIS 625 - Enterprise Systems Analysis
  • EC 650 - Managerial Economics
  • FI 630 - Financial Management
  • MK 660 - Marketing Strategy
  • QM 670 - Quantitative Methods
  • MG 624 - Organizational Behavior
  • MG 640 - Management Policy

The four concentration options that a student may select from are:

 

1. Project Management

  • MG 585 - Project Management
  • MG 685 - Cases in Applied Project Management
  • MK 670 - Leadership and Team Building


2. Professional Concentration 

  • Any three MBA electives chosen by the student

3. International Business Concentration 
  • MG 691 - International Business
  • EC/FI 563 - International Trade and Finance
  • MG 610 - Business Ethics OR
  • MG 680 - International Internship OR
  • MG 698 - Independent Study/Practicum in International Business (with approval of the department chair)

4. Health Care Management Concentration 
  • MG 665 - Issues in Health Care Management
  • MG 695 - Strategic Management for Health Care Management
  • MK 671 - Marketing for Health Care Management
