Department of Entertainment Industry

Music, Business, Technology... It's All Here!

The Department of Entertainment Industry (DEI) at the University of North Alabama prepares students for professional careers in the entertainment industry.

The DEI is part of the UNA College of Arts and Sciences. The Center is a service learning center for the nationally accredited UNA Department of Music, the Department of Communications and Theatre, and the Department of Management and Marketing (within the College of Business). Degree programs in the music and entertainment industry began at UNA in 1975 with the creation of a Commercial Music degree, and have a rich heritage of successful alumni.

In recent years, our students have interned in such places as Los Angeles, New York, Stockholm, London, and Atlanta, as well as Nashville and Muscle Shoals.

The Department of Entertainment Industry at UNA has developed the interdisciplinary concept and grown into one of the best programs of its kind in the Southeast.

The DEI coordinates all the degrees and houses the student recording studio and MIDI lab.
