Distance Learning Classes
A new approach to the traditional classroom
lecture, Distance Learning offers an alternative to students who have special
needs. This fall, selected classes will be taught by a combination of videotape
and Internet, and others will be taught by Internet alone. These classes offer
the same credit as traditional on-campus classes. Students must
have an e-mail account and the ability to access course materials online for
Distance Learning classes.
Videotapes will be available for pickup in
the Distance Learning Office, 101 Stevens Hall, beginning on the first day of
class, Wednesday, August 21, 2002. Students must bring their student I.D. in
order to check out the tapes. Information on Internet classes will also be
available beginning on August 21; students may telephone either the Office of
Distance Learning or the individual instructor for additional information.
It is the responsibility of the student
registering for Distance Learning classes to pick up the videotapes or
information about the Internet class as soon as possible; or to telephone the
Office of Distance Learning if special needs arise. Please note that Distance
Learning classes, although extremely flexible in one sense, still follow a
definite schedule of tests and assignments. Call the Office of Distance
Learning at (256)

with any questions, or visit the Distance Learning website at http://distance.una.edu.
