Scholarships
All full-time UNA students can apply for scholarships using either the General Endowed Scholarship form or a major-specific form available through the Student Financial Services website.
There are several scholarships through the Biology department that are awarded each year. Selection takes place during the spring semester with the scholarship being awarded during the following academic year. The exact amount of at least some of these scholarships varies from year to year.
Beta Beta Beta Scholarship
Qualifications: must be a βββ member; have an overall GPA of 2.5 and a Biology GPA of 3.0
Amount of award: $500
Francie Martin Scholarship
Qualifications: full-time student majoring in biology (or other sciences); eligible for one year only
Amount of award: about $600
John W. Holland Scholarship
Qualifications: full time student majoring in biology and a member of βββ; eligible for one year only
Amount of award: $275
Dr. Thomas F. "Whitey" Hall Scholarship
Qualifications: full-time student majoring in Biology or Secondary Education/ Biology with an interest in Botany; GPA of 3.0; sophomore or higher standard; eligible for one year, but prior recipients may re-apply.
Amount of award: about $600
