Kyle Mangum is a Florence native who graduated from the University of North Alabama in 2008 with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree. During his time at UNA he served on the SGA Senate, Lagrange Society, SOAR Counselor, and was a member of Alpha Tau Omega Fraternity.

He began his career at his family’s business, Mattress Country, in Florence. He spent 10 years helping run the business before joining the team at Bank Independent in early 2019. He moved into his current role of Vice President – Sales Officer with Bank Independent in May 2022.

Kyle has served the Shoals community in various capacities. Some of these include the Downtown Florence Alliance, YMCA of the Shoals, Florence-Lauderdale Tourism Board, Florence Kiwanis Club , Children’s Museum of the Shoals, and the Florence Education Foundation.

Mangum and his wife, Jessica, have 2 children: William and Elizabeth. Both children attend Florence City Schools. Jessica is a Contracting Officer for the Army Contracting Command – Redstone Arsenal.
