Understanding Your W-2

New for 2012 W-2’s Box 12 Code DD: You will notice a new code in Box 12 on your 2012 W-2. Code DD is for INFORMATIONAL purposes only and includes the health care coverage provided by the employer and the portion paid by the employee. This amount is provided to give the employee useful and comparable consumer information on the cost of health care coverage.

REMEMBER: Your W-2 shows the amount of wages that were taxed, not the actual amount earned.
