Actress Natalie Canerday to Emcee 13th Annual George Lindsey UNA Film Festival Awards Show

Mar. 4, 2010

“Sling Blade” and “October Sky” star Natalie Canerday will emcee the 13th Annual George Lindsey UNA Film Festival Awards Show. The show will be held Saturday, March 6 at 7 p.m. in the Guillot University Center Banquet Halls on the campus of the University of North Alabama.

The annual awards show honors the best among the films screened during the four-day festival. This year, the George Lindsey UNA Film Festival is pleased to be giving Golden Lion awards to screenplays for the first time.

Following the Awards Show is an After Party hosted by Cypress Moon Studio in Sheffield. The Awards Show ticket covers admission to both events, and is $15 plus tax and handling, and $10 plus tax and handling for UNA students. A separate After Party Only ticket is also available for $10 plus tax and handling. Tickets may be purchased at www.lindseyfilmfest.com, at Coffee-ol-ogy in the Florence Lauderdale Public Library, and at the UNA Bookstore. Remaining tickets will also be available at the door.

The George Lindsey UNA Film Festival is one of the few film festivals hosted by a university. The event was founded in 1998 in part by UNA alumnus and celebrated actor and entertainer George Lindsey. Lindsey’s own film career has included several important roles, including the character Goober Pyle on “The Andy Griffith Show.”
