Orientation

The transition to college life is tough. Not only are you entering a new environment, but you usually don't have the luxury of your parents reminding you to study, sleep and go to class. That's where UNA steps in with SOAR (Student Orientation, Advisement, and Registration) to help you acclimate yourself to college life, learn about UNA opportunities, register for a good schedule

of classes and meet a network of friends that will help you succeed in your time at UNA. SOAR, which all incoming students must attend, is broken down into two phases, one during the summer and one just before classes start in the fall.

SOAR Phase I allows new incoming freshman students to participate in a two-day summer orientation session to learn more about the University, participate in academic advising, pre-register for classes, and gain valuable information on items such as financial aid, meal plans, housing, tuition and more.

Welcome week occurs the first week of school in August for new and current students to take part in activities and events which will orient them more to the University, familiarize them to campus surroundings, and give an opportunity to develop friendships as they begin college.
