Testing through the University Success Center
Testing offered through University Advising Services is currently located in The Commons on the 2nd floor. You can reach this office at 256.765.4722 to find out more information about the tests you need. Click on the link to the test(s), if you need to find out the testing schedule. Some tests are given only at certain times and dates, while you must schedule an appointment to take others.
University Advising Services also offers the College Level Examination Program (CLEP). The CLEP tests are conducted by appointment only and you can schedule your appointment through University Advising Services by calling 256.765.4722 or stopping by the office on the 2nd floor of The Commons.
A Test-Out option is now available for CIS 125 for those who are proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access. Information about this test can be found here.
The Miller Analogies Test (MAT) is given in the testing lab located in Keller Hall room 233. The times and dates for the MATs are scheduled every semester. The MAT is a graduate school admissions test. If you are applying to graduate schools in the area of education, counseling, English, nursing, criminal justice, and many others, you may be required to take the MAT. DANTES Subject Standardized Test (DSST). is another test offered by University Advising Services. DSSTs are similar to the CLEP tests, but are not taken on a computer. You must schedule the DSST by calling University Advising Services at 256.765.4722 or stopping by the 2nd floor of The Commons.
Distance Learning Testing
The Office of Distance Learning is located in room 101 of Stevens Hall and can be reached by calling 256-765-4987 or 877-765-6110. If you are interested in or enrolled in the Distance Learning Program and have questions about your testing, you can contact Ms. Bonnie Coats by email at email@example.com.
Testing through College of Education & Human Services
The College of Education & Human Services Department is located in room 548 of Stevens Hall. You can contact the College of Education & Human Services by calling 256.765.4252 or stopping by room 548 of Stevens Hall. If you have selected a major in Education or Human Services, you will be required to take a major-specific test before you will be able to graduate. The MAT mentioned above can be one of these tests, but others are accessed through the College of Education & Human Services.
