No, it is always free to apply!
After submitting your application to the University of North Alabama, you can check your application status anytime through your MyUNA Account. Once logged in, you can view any missing documents on the application checklist. If you have trouble accessing your account or have questions about your status, you can contact the Office of Admissions at admissions@una.edu.
You may be considered for some scholarships automatically when you apply to the University of North Alabama. Others you will have to apply for separately, including Leadership Scholasrhips, Endowed Scholarships, etc. Details on all scholarships and how to apply can be found at https://www.una.edu/affordable/.
How do I accept my scholarships?
Once admitted, you will receive log in credentials for your official UNA Portal Account. To accept scholarship offers, you must log into your UNA Portal Account, click on Financial Aid Dashboard, and select the current aid year from the top of the screen. Make sure you review any questions from the Financial Aid Office on the Home tab and respond. Click on the Award Offer tab. Scroll down to the Grants and Scholarships to Pay for College box. Here, you can view and accept scholarship offers. If your scholarship(s) have been accepted, the word “Accepted” will appear on the right side of the screen next to each accepted scholarship. Once you have reviewed ALL of your award offer decisions, click Submit at the bottom of the page.
How can I schedule a campus tour?
Campus tours are scheduled online via your MyUNA account. You can view available dates and event registrations online at una.edu/visit, or call the Office of Admissions at 256-765-4608.
How will my tour reservation be confirmed?
You will receive an email with parking information and check-in details upon completion of your registration.
Can I change the date or time of my tour?
Yes, you can call the Office of Admissions at 256-765-4608 or email admissions@una.edu to request an adjustment or update to your tour reservation.
What should I wear for my tour?
Weather-appropriate attire is recommended as tours take place rain or shine. Attire is casual, and we encourage comfortable footwear for your walking tour of campus.
Where do I park?

How long do tours last?
A campus tour consists of an admissions presentation as well as a 1 hour and 30 minute walking tour led by our LaGrange Ambassadors. Please plan to be on campus for about 2 hours.
What happens if it is raining on my tour day?
Campus Tours still proceed during rain or shine as long as long as there is not lightning or thunder in the area. Please be sure to wear weather appropriate attire!
Requirements for students applying to UNA Early College:
- Students must have a minimum 3.00 unweighted GPA to participate in the UNA Early College Program.
- “C” average on UNA courses for continued participation in the UNA Early College program.
- Course requirements (specific ACT scores, high school courses, etc.) as listed in this catalog.
- Early College students (cohort and non-cohort) must meet the same prerequisite requirements for courses that are listed in the most current University catalog.
- If a student does not meet the 3.0 GPA requirement, they may apply but will only be eligible to register for UNA 105.

How many dual enrollment hours can I transfer in before being considered a “transfer student” as an incoming freshman?
Incoming freshmen can bring in any amount of dual enrollment and still be considered for freshmen scholarships.
How do I transfer my dual enrollment credit from a community college to UNA?
Request an official transcript from your dual enrollment institution to be sent to ugalert@una.edu. The Office of the Registrar will evaluate course credit based on the course description to be applied as a direct equivalent, a major/minor elective, a core course, or a general elective. Students can review all course credit equivalence/transfer information here.
