Bio

I was born in France and raised in various places across the United States and Europe because my dad was in the Air Force. Prior to teaching, I was a Social Worker and then completed my Master's degree in education from the University of North Alabama in 1992. I spent the first 15 years teaching 5th grade, but have been teaching first and second grade at Kilby Laboratory School since 2006. I am very blessed to have two wonderful sons who are married to absolutely precious young ladies. Besides teaching the children in my classroom, there is no other love that can compare to the love I have for my 5 precious grandchildren. My passion is teaching and making a difference in the lives of young people and our community. I feel that it is both an honor and privilege to teach at Kilby and to work collaboratively with phenomenal parents as well as outstanding University of North Alabama faculty and staff. I will always be grateful for the opportunities and experiences that have been afforded me during these wonderful years at Kilby Laboratory School, and I look forward to the bright future that is ahead for all of us at the University of North Alabama.
