Faculty Resources
Faculty at the University of North Alabama are essential in our DEI efforts! This section includes resources that are beneficial to support their efforts. If there’s a UNA resource that is not listed or you can’t find what you are looking for, please contact ddei@una.edu.
Decisions regarding faculty hires are among the most important a university makes. As an equal employment opportunity employer, UNA seeks to identify, attract, recruit, and retain a scholarly, world-class, distinctive, and diverse faculty in all academic disciplines.
At UNA, the faculty recruitment process is a collaborative effort between the Division of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, Academic Affairs, Academic Colleges, and Human Resources. Each has responsibility to ensure adherence to the University’s Equal Opportunity and Discriminatory Harassment Policy.
DEI has the responsibility of monitoring and coordinating the recruitment process to ensure compliance with search procedures, university policies, and legal and regulatory requirements.
The hiring manager has the responsibility of assisting deans, department chairs, and search committees in identifying and recruiting outstanding faculty.
Our team members provide training, advise search committees on recruitment strategies, equitable search practices, and respond to questions that may arise during the recruitment process.
The purpose of this grant program is to provide programming, research, opportunity, diversity, inclusion, and growth (PRODiG) at the University of North Alabama. This program will foster and cultivate current and new collaborations and innovations on diversity and inclusion topics and challenges.
