Quality Matters Workshops

Educational Technology Services will host a face-to-face, 8 hour Quality Matters (QM) certified workshop for up to 20 participants on  February 24, 2017, from 8AM – 4:30PM in Stevens 101 .   The workshop, Applying the Quality Matters Rubric (APPQMR) workshop is QM's flagship workshop on the QM Rubric and the process of using the QM Rubric to review online courses. It is intended for a broad audience, including but not limited to faculty, instructional designers, administrators, and adjunct instructors who wish to understand more about the QM Rubric and process of course review.  There are no prerequisites required to take this workshop.

Workshop Learning Objectives:

  1. Identify the underlying principles of QM. (Recognize key QM underlying principles and concepts.)
  2. Identify the critical elements of the QM quality assurance program, including the QM Rubric, materials, processes, and administrative components.
  3. Apply the QM Rubric to review online courses.
  4. Make decisions on whether the sample course meets selected QM Rubric Standards.
  5. Apply the concept of alignment.
  6. Draft helpful recommendations for course improvement by citing annotations from the QM Rubric and evidence from the course.
