Is the GMAT required for admission?
The GMAT or GRE is required for the Traditional MBA Concentrations but not for the Executive MBA. A GMAT score of 450 or higher and a cumulative grade point average of at least 2.5 on a 4.0 scale is required for unconditional admission. Conditional admission requires a GMAT score of 400 or higher and a cumulative grade point average of at least 2.75 on a 4.0 scale. An acceptable (equivalent) GRE score may be substituted for GMAT. Is there a work experience requirement for admission?
Work experience is required for the Executive MBA but not for the Traditional MBA Concentrations. For unconditional admission, eight or more years of increasing responsibility in professional management, or entrepreneurial positions is required; and currently employed in a supervisory, middle or upper management. For conditional admission, the eight years is reduced to six years.
What are the key differences between the Executive MBA and Traditional MBA Concentrations?
Can the MBA be earned online?
Yes, both the Executive MBA and most Traditional MBA Concentrations can be taken completely online, with the exception of the Accounting Concentration (half online/half face-to-face).
When can I begin the MBA program?
Students may start the MBA program in August, January or June. The typical Fall or Spring semester courses meet for 16-weeks. Summer semester courses meet for 8-weeks.
How long will it take me to complete the program?
Students who have career and/or family obligations may still be able to complete the MBA in 18-24 months. Full-time graduate students, however, may be able to complete the program in 12 months.
Does UNA accept transfer credit?
Is UNA an accredited institution?
Yes. The University of North Alabama is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) (1866 Southern Lane, Decatur, Georgia, Telephone number 404-679-4501) to award bachelor’s, master’s and education specialist degrees. This accreditation gives regional and national recognition to credits and degrees earned at the University.
The College of Business, which has been offering MBA programs for over 30 years is also accredited by the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP), and also cooperates with and participates in academically-related programs as may be conducted by external groups such as the American College of Life Underwriters, the American Institute of Banking, etc.
Where can I get information regarding financial aid?
Are any scholarships available for Online MBA students?
Yes. There are endowed scholarships available. Students can apply online by going to the Student Financial Services website and reviewing the available scholarships.
Do I still have to pay the application fee if I earned by undergraduate degree at UNA?
Yes. The application fee is only waived for graduate students who previously applied to a graduate program at UNA.
