The Tyree Family

In honor of Karl T. Tyree, the Tyree family made a large donation to the UNA Planetarium of $18000 to purchase new planetarium shows and update the equipment. Four shows were obtained using these funds. We appreciate this support of the planetarium and of UNA.

Mr. Henry Tyree and family also donated a antique brass refractor that was used during the civil war on the Tennessee river.  We are proud to display this beautiful instrument in our lobby area as a fine example of the brass refractors that were manufactured at the time.
