New Faculty
Orientation
Overview
New Faculty Orientation (NFO) is designed to welcome incoming faculty members to the UNA community and provides them with the knowledge, resources, and connections needed to begin their roles with confidence. NFO introduces faculty to the institution’s mission, policies, resources, academic expectations, and campus community while providing opportunities to connect with colleagues and key campus partners. The purpose is to ensure new faculty feel informed, supported, and prepared for a successful start to their academic careers of teaching, scholarship, and service.
Materials and communications for New Faculty Orientation members can be found in the New Faculty Orientation Canvas Course. All incoming faculty are enrolled in this course and can access it by logging into their Canvas account and locating the NFO course in their list of courses.
The calendar of events for the 2026-27 New Faculty Orientation can be found below.
