Professional Chemistry

The chemistry major with the professional chemistry option is designed for students who wish to prepare for positions in the chemical industry, in governmental laboratories or for graduate studies in chemistry. Our learning outcomes for students ensure that they graduate with a strong foundation in the knowledge and skills necessary in chemistry. The program is certified by the American Chemical Society. Requirements for the professional chemistry major include prescribed ancillary courses in computer science, mathematics and physics. The following table lists the courses required to obtain a Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree with a major in professional chemistry. To fulfill the requirements of the professional chemistry option within four years, use the recommended 4-year plan as a guide.
