Medical Insurance

This page applies only to International Students at the University of North Alabama. No other UNA students are eligible.

  1. ALL International students including exchange students (F-1, J-1 visa holders) are REQUIRED to carry valid health insurance and their health insurance fees will be automatically charged each semester.
  2. The insurance quoted is for F-1 and J-1 visa holders only.  F-2 and J-2 dependents must show proof of adequate health insurance.
  3. The insurance policy starts on August 15 and expires on August 14 of the following year.  The insurance fee and benefits may vary from year to year.
  4. The insurance fees are charged by policy open enrollment period and is non-refundable.
  5. OPT students are encouraged but not required to purchase Aetna insurance through Trawick.
  6. This policy has a deductible of $250.00

  Mid-fall new students are charged a pro-rated amount. Mid-spring new students are charged a pro-rated amount.
