The Interior Design Program is a concentration in the Connie D. McKinney Department of Human Sciences, Hospitality, and Design. The studios are located in the HSHD Department, 205 S. Seminary St. The Interior Design Program teaching, student and faculty areas includes a computer lab/studio, drafting/design studio, lecture classroom, resource library, conferencing area, faculty offices and The Gallery - a student meeting area including a service kitchen. The computer lab/studio has twenty computers, multimedia equipment, Smart Board technology, two plotters, one laser printer and two color printers. One plotter is a 24” and is used for architectural document printing; the other plotter is a new 42” twelve colors, photo quality plotter with allows for finish color board creation. The computers are Apple Macintosh software including Microsoft Office, Architectural AutoCad, Autodesk Viz, Google Sketchup Version 7 and 20/20 Kitchen and Bath Design. The drafting/drawing studio has 20 drafting stations with multi-media equipment, Smart Board technology 8’x14’ ft project display board, and a wireless Internet computer connection hub allowing for student lab top use. Lecture material may be viewed through Blackboard and other digital formats. Students enrolled in the program have 24/7 access to The Studios and the HSHD department.
