American Chemical Society Awards

Analytical Chemistry Award
Awarded by the ACS Division of Analytical Chemistry for excellence in analytical chemistry. Awardees must have completed their third undergraduate year by the end of the summer semester. Award is an 8-month subscription to the journal ANALYTICAL CHEMISTRY.

ACS Division of Organic Chemistry Undergraduate Award
Awarded to top graduating senior majoring in either chemistry or biochemistry who has demonstrated excellence in organic chemistry based on a combination of research experience, coursework, and a desire to pursue a career in chemistry.

POLYED Award
Awarded by the ACS Polymer Education Committee to students who have completed or will complete the second semester of organic chemistry during the academic year. The student must have earned grades of A in each semester and must have ranked in the top 10% of the class each semester. The student must be a chemistry major and have a grade point average of at least 3.4. The award is a certificate.

ACS Division of Inorganic Chemistry Undergraduate Award in Inorganic Chemistry
Awarded to recognize achievement by an undergraduate in inorganic chemistry. Recipient will have demonstrated excellence in inorganic chemistry at the undergraduate level based on any combination of research, coursework, and/or motivation/interest/dedication. The recipient should also have future plans that include a career in chemistry. The award is a certificate.

Outstanding Chemistry Senior Award
Awarded by the Wilson Dam Section ACS to the outstanding senior chemistry major for scholarship, leadership, and service. Awardees must be in the May graduation or have graduated in the previous December graduation. Award is a certificate plus the name of the recipient is added to the department's plaque.

American Institute of Chemists

The American Institute of Chemists Student Award
Awarded by the AIC Student Research and Recognition Foundation on the basis of a demonstrated record of leadership, ability, character, scholastic achievement, and potential of advancement of the chemical professions. Recipient must be a graduating senior majoring in chemistry. Award is a certificate.

Department of Chemistry and Physics

Outstanding Graduating Senior Awards
Awarded by UNA at the University Awards Gala to the graduating senior chemistry major and the graduating senior physics major chosen by the department. Award is a certificate provided by the University.

Distinguished Chemistry Major Award
Awarded by the Department to outstanding chemistry majors upon completion of their degree requirements. The award is a certificate.

Michael B. Moeller Physical Chemistry Award
Awarded by the Department to the top student completing the CH 381/382 sequence. The award is a certificate and memento from the department.

CRC Press Freshman Chemistry Achievement Award
Awarded by the CRC Press for outstanding scholastic achievement in chemistry during the freshman year. Award is a CRC Handbook of Chemistry and Physics, an organic chemistry textbook, and a certificate.

General Chemistry Award
Awarded by Cengage/Brooks/Cole Publisher to the student with the highest average in spring semester CH 112. Award is an organic chemistry textbook and a certificate.

Biochemistry Award
Awarded by the Department to the top student completing the CH 331/431 sequence.  The award is a certificate and memento from the department.
