Christie Bevis '97

Christie Bevis received her Bachelor of Science in Sociology from UNA and pursued her graduate work at Mississippi State University. Bevis is a Program Manager with Caravan Studios, a division of TechSoup, based in San Francisco, CA.  She possesses an extensive background in program development and organizational management, with subject matter expertise in gender-based violence, homelessness, and housing.  Her experience is inclusive of work at the local, state, and national levels including director, Safe Housing Practices and Initiatives, National Resource Center on Domestic Violence (NRCDV), program manager, Homeless & Homeless Management Information System initiatives for Collaborative Solutions, Inc., and senior program associate on the Promising Practices Initiative, a collaboration between the Vera Institute of Justice and the U.S. Department of Justice Office on Violence Against Women.  While at NRCDV, Bevis also served as program lead for the National Domestic Violence and Housing Technical Assistance Consortium – an unprecedented partnership between the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Department of Justice, and Department of Housing and Urban Development, and the U.S. Interagency Council on Homelessness.
