Jacob Ladner is serving his first term on the City of Decatur City Council. He represents District 5 and serves as City Council President.

A graduate of Decatur Heritage Christian Academy, Ladner earned his B.S. in History from the University of North Alabama in 2010. He began his career at Interstate Billing Service in 2010, where he was named the Vice President of Sales and Client Experience. During his 11 years at Interstate Billing, the company saw tremendous growth, reaching nearly $2.5B in sales. He moved into a new role of Chief Executive Officer at Thirdmark Capital in 2021.

Ladner and his wife, Erika (UNA ’09), have three children: Bennett, Hallie, and Claire. Bennett and Hallie both attend Decatur City Schools. Erika is a former reporter for WAAY 31, and now stays home with the children 

Ladner is a member of the UNA Foundation Board, the Board of Directors for the Neighborhood Christian Center, and the Board of Directors for Kiwanis of Decatur.
