Robert Potts
Dr. Robert L. Potts received law degrees from the University of Alabama and Harvard University. After practicing law for a period, he began his full-time career in higher education in 1984 when he became General Counsel of the University of Alabama System. He was appointed President of University of North Alabama in 1990 where he served for over 14 years. In 2004, Dr. Potts left UNA to become Chancellor of the North Dakota University System, where he served for almost three years. Thereafter he was appointed as the first Chancellor of the Jonesboro Campus of Arkansas State University. He concluded his higher education career in 2011 as Interim President of the Arkansas State University System. His home is now in Florence. Dr. Potts is a member of the UNA President’s Cabinet.
