Bio:

I graduated from the University of North Alabama in 2004 with a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. I returned to UNA to complete my Master’s degree in Elementary Education in 2008 and again to earn my Instructional Leadership certification in 2014. I began my teaching career in 2004 in Florence City Schools. I taught first grade for seven years and was an instructional coach for two years at Harlan Elementary School.

I have been married for three years to Brad. We are the proud parents of Sophie, Emma, and Duncan, our three sweet pups. In my free time I enjoy spending time with family, reading, crafts, and traveling.

I absolutely love education and am thrilled to have the opportunity to teach first grade at Kilby! I am proud to be a UNA graduate and enjoy collaborating with the university to further the mission of both UNA and Kilby. I consider it a great privilege to be part of the Kilby family!

Bio:

I graduated from the University of North Alabama in 1997 with a Bachelor’s in Elementary Education, in 2002 with a Master’s in Elementary Education, and in 2013 with an EdS in Teacher Leader. I have 21 years teaching experience, with five of those being served as a Math and Science AMSTI Specialist at UNA. I have also taught 2nd and 3rd grade. Teaching has been my passion for as long as I can remember. I have been happily married to Dr. Joey Dawson since 1997. We have three wonderful children. Landon and Evey are Kilby Alums and Ella Kate is a current student of Kilby. Two of my greatest joys in life are teaching and spending time with family. It has been my privilege to be a part of UNA over the years and I am beyond thrilled to add to that history as a 1st grade teacher.
