Green

Weather Conditions

  • No threats to campus.
  • No special weather advisories from the NWS.

Campus Operations

  • Normal schedule for all classes, operations, and events.
  • Default position

Yellow

Weather Conditions

  • Lower level threats to campus.
  • Severe weather possible in the service area.
  • Aligns with NWS risk factors 1 through 3 on the severe weather predictive scale.

Campus Operations

  • Offices are open and classes operate on a normal schedule.
  • Scheduled events continue as planned.
  • EC may change status as conditions warrant.
  • Individuals are encouraged to monitor local conditions in making travel decisions.

Orange

Weather Conditions

  • Higher level threats with severe weather probable.
  • Potential storm threats to campus and the service area.
  • Aligns with NWS risk factors 4 and 5 on the severe weather predictive scale.

Campus Operations

  • Offices open with some schedule modifications possible; EC members decide staffing levels and remote work options.
  • As dictated by conditions, f2f classes may be suspended with instruction moving to Canvas.
  • EC members determine status of campus events.
  • Individuals are encouraged to monitor local conditions in making travel decisions.

Red

Weather Conditions

  • Severe weather events that are imminent and/or likely to have significant impact on campus and surrounding area.
  • Conditions lead to roads and walkways deemed too dangerous for travel.
  • Possible loss of power and/or other damage to campus.

Campus Operations

  • Campus closed and normal operations are suspended.
  • No f2f classes; instruction moves to Canvas.
  • As dictated by conditions, EC members may direct emergency and critical services personnel to report to campus.
  • Scheduled events cancelled unless EC approves otherwise.
  • Most buildings are locked and offices are not physically staffed.
