There are two types of consultations: in-house consultations and online consultations. In-House consultations take place in person at the Center, and they are scheduled in 30-minute increments. Online consultations take place via the online chat service provided by our scheduling system, and they are scheduled in 60-minute increments. We ask that online consultations be reserved for distance-learning students. Clients are strongly encouraged to stay for the entire duration of the consultation since this allows more time for asking questions and learning.

Clients scheduling online consultations are asked to send their drafts to writingcenter@una.edu at least 48 hours prior to the appointment. Failure to submit a draft beforehand will reduce the effectiveness of the consultation. If the online consultation technology fails, please call 256-765-6015, and the consultation will ne continued via telephone.
