Bio:
I graduated from the University of North Alabama in 2004 with a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. I returned to UNA to complete my Master’s degree in Elementary Education in 2008 and again to earn my Instructional Leadership certification in 2014. I began my teaching career in 2004 in Florence City Schools. I taught first grade for seven years and was an instructional coach for two years at Harlan Elementary School.
I have been married for three years to Brad. We are the proud parents of Sophie, Emma, and Duncan, our three sweet pups. In my free time I enjoy spending time with family, reading, crafts, and traveling.
I absolutely love education and am thrilled to have the opportunity to teach first grade at Kilby! I am proud to be a UNA graduate and enjoy collaborating with the university to further the mission of both UNA and Kilby. I consider it a great privilege to be part of the Kilby family!

Bio:
Argie Campbell teaches 4th Grade at Kilby. After graduating from Samford University in 2010, she taught 6th Grade Writing at The Soulsville Charter School in Memphis, Tennessee. During her time there, she served as a department chair, team leader, and mentor teacher for two teaching residents from Union University. In addition to a B.S. in Human Development and Family Life Education, she has an M.A.T. from Christian Brothers University. Mrs. Campbell especially loves teaching fourth graders to prepare for the challenges that middle school will bring, and helping all students flourish into productive, passionate young people. Her classroom philosophy centers on developing students into effective and reflective collaborators who value lifelong learning.
When she is not teaching, Mrs. Campbell is likely spending time with her family. She has been married since 2010 to her husband Matt, a professor of Secondary Education and the Director of Teacher Preparation at UNA along with an adjust professor for Vanderbilt University. They have two daughters and a dog: Argie Virginia (3 years), Charlotte (3 months), and Bo.

Bio:
Welcome to 5th grade!! I am currently a fifth grade teacher at Kilby Laboratory School. I graduated from The College of New Jersey in 2007, with a dual degree in elementary education and math/ science/ technology and shortly after, earned my master’s degree in curriculum and instruction, elementary education. I was born and raised in New Jersey but have taught in several states including New Jersey, Arizona, Virginia, and for the past 7 years, Alabama. While I have experience teaching all subjects and grade levels, the middle grades are my favorite. In upper elementary, I can become a facilitator, allowing students to take control of their own learning in many ways, while focusing on metacognition, their own interests, and reflecting on their performance to guide their next steps. Outside of the classroom, I enjoy spending time with my family, Jason, also employed by UNA, Carter, a current Kilby cub, and Avery, a future Kilby cub! We recently added a new puppy, Remy, to the mix. We like to travel, go to the beach, and spend time with friends and family.

Bio:
I was born in Houma, Louisiana. My mother’s family is first generation Italian American and my father’s family is of Cajun descent. This means that I can cook. I have been cooking since I was nine years old and spend a lot of my free time in the kitchen.
I have taught in Louisiana for twenty-three years in the public schools before arriving at Kilby. I have a master’s in Reading and Reading Specialist certification in Louisiana. I have taught both third and fifth grade during those years and I was also a Reading Interventionist.
I have two children that are both in College. One attends the University of Arkansas and is a senior and the other is a sophomore at Auburn University. They both love Florence and want to settle here once they finish school.
I have been married to Dennis for twenty-three years. He is always with me, because he is my best friend.
I am loving the Sixth grade at Kilby. There is so much to do and we are enjoying every challenge that is thrown our way.

Bio:
I was born in a small town in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania then went to college at Slippery Rock University where I received my undergraduate degree in Elementary Education with an emphasis in Early Childhood Education. I moved to Okeechobee Florida for my first teaching job and was a kindergarten teacher for 7 years. My journey next took me to North Carolina where I received my Masters in Special Education and returned in 2000 to obtain my Masters in School Counseling. In North Carolina I spent years as a Special Education teacher working with children with behavior and emotional needs and then as an Elementary School Counselor and Coach for 14 years. Counseling and Coaching were the best of my professional passion combined, so I decided to obtain my Physical Education certificate and became a Personal Trainer.
I moved to Alabama in July of 2011 and have been a Personal Trainer in Muscle Shoals and Physical Education Teacher at Deshler Middle. My heart kept telling me I need to be back with the little ones and by chance I heard about the KILBY opening! Yay!
I am thrilled to be part of the KILBY family! I feel so fortunate to be here and the Kilby kids bring me smiles each and every day. I spend my free time with my two wonderful pups; 6 year old Courage and 9 month old Crosby who bring me tons of joy and smiles! Besides time with my pups, I make frequent trips to Ohio to see my family and awesome nephew Connor, he is a precious 9 month old miracle baby boy! I also love to train at the gym and work with clients, and love watching HGTV and sports-especially football!
